2-elevenThe early cars came with a smallish, oval system – none too efficient flow-wise and too loud for a lot of UK circuits. Later models, with more than a nod to the recently draconian (noise-wise) Japanese market, have a revised Exige S system – a heavyweight piece of kit for a supposedly track-focused semi race car! I’m so glad. Thank you Lotus. On these cars, it’s the GT3 layout only which fits. Most of my customers, even the US-based owners, choose the 8” dia system. Anyone wanting to really make a noise, there’s the 6”dia x 18” GT3.
I always use a straight shot off the Cat pipe.. This keeps the centreline of the silencer low and means the tailpipe has a natural upsweep.

340RI’ve seen two different systems on these cars as std. The Stainless with the Titanium wrap (you didn’t think it was all-Titanium, did you) – made by Blueflame. And the Stainless system with the Carbon wrap – made by Janspeed. If the Ti wrapped system has been used on trackdays, it will usually have burst the Ti skin. Probably because the internal volume of the system isn’t large enough to handle the pressure at max revs – anyway, I’ve seen a few split and NO! I don’t repair them.
Given the size of these systems, you will have to remove the small alloy panel found under the exhaust. I use lightweight bends from the Cat pipe flange up to the system. There’s plenty of adjustability and there’s none lighter on the market.
