This is the first aftermarket header/manifold available in the WORLD for the 1ZZ-fe motor when fitted to the Elise S.

Some manufacturers can get away with offering their Elise R systems for the S but they can’t pull that stunt with the header/manifold! Different flange design from the 2ZZ-ge.

Looking at the std design, a small-bore 4-1 above (v. 2bular 4-2-1), it’s not difficult to design an improved layout. However, you have to keep the torque up and increase the power output – that’s the difficult part.

I’ve gone for a 4-2-1. Combined with a Sports Cat and correct bore system plus a decent re-map, you will see gains of 12-15bhp and 12ft/lbs of torque. In fact, it’s almost in Elise R territory on torque! Again, I only use race-style merged collectors to improve efficiency/flow. A wide-band Lambda boss is fitted for mapping purposes.
