I’m not a big fan of the twin exit systems for these cars. The std design is ludicrously heavy and I prefer to make a SINGLE silencer system, with a single tip. It’s lighter and quieter than almost all the other systems I’ve seen/heard AND it has a 2.25” bore – perfect for the tuned K motor.
The RH exit tip finishes through the std RH grille, or you can fit the 2bular Panel Eliminator Kit (PEK). Systems bolt to the std S2 3-bolt flange and come with a fitting kit/gasket supplied.
If you have a Honda install, you need the 8”dia x 24” with the 2.5” bore. Please advise on which conversion kit you have, as some do not finish at the std S2 flange position – whatever they might claim! I am occasionally asked about a twin tip system, finishing like std. I do understand owners’ liking for this layout - cosmetically, it looks good. For me, it means making two small silencers (so noise might be an issue for a tuned motor), a crazy link-pipe and a T-section in the middle – a LOT of TIG welding but I would use the full 2.25” bore, not 1.625” like some I’ve seen. POA. and don’t hold your breath.
As a compromise, or for an owner wanting a track-friendly system but insisting on the twin tips, I’ve recently made some systems with a dummy LH tip(!) – more weight/cost but it’s quiet enough for trackdays and it has the twin tips!
