The early cars came with a smallish, oval system – none too efficient flow-wise and too loud for a lot of UK circuits.

Later models, with more than a nod to the recently draconian (noise-wise) Japanese market, have a revised Exige S system – a heavyweight piece of kit for a supposedly track-focused semi racecar! I have developed a new silencer design specifically for these cars but will be rolling it out for the other systems in the 2bular Lotus range very soon. It features a chambered, 6”dia x 24” shell – quieter/lighter than the big 8” GT3 normally specified! Bit of a b*gger to make but it works very well.

I always use a straight shot off the Cat pipe.. This keeps the centreline of the silencer low and means the tailpipe has a natural upsweep.
